Answers and solutions to your FMLA, ADA, & short-term disability medical questions are just a phone call away.

Medical Surveillance Programs

The OMS physicians are experienced in designing and implementing medical programs for a wide variety of companies. Medical surveillance can be defined as medically examining workers over time to determine the effects of exposure, the impact of exposure on organ systems and body function. The intent of a rational, comprehensive medical surveillance program is to prevent occupationally related disease in workers potentially exposed to toxic agents at the work site, and to find trends before disease occurs, or before it becomes clinically overt. Our physicians are well versed in issues of medical test reliability and quality assurance of tests and exam data.

Pre-placement Examinations

The OMS performs pre-placement/pre-employment examinations to determine a worker’s ability to safely perform a proposed job based on its physical requirements. OMS offers standard and specialized examinations covering a wide range of occupations and regulations. A physician trained in occupational medicine and Americans with Disabilities Act requirements conducts every examination.

OSHA & EPA Compliance Examinations

The OMS specializes in providing OSHA & EPA compliance examinations for lead, asbestos workers, and hazardous materials workers. These examinations are carried out at regular intervals to identify and track possible health problems. The frequency and extent of the examinations assures regulatory compliance with OSHA and EPA. Our physicians can order testing, review results & OSHA history forms, and provide medical clearance for respirator wearers for client plant sites around the US.

Independent Medical Evaluations (IMEs)

The OMS provides comprehensive Independent Medical Evaluations (IMEs). An IME is a thorough and impartial assessment of the medical condition of an individual. Its purpose may be to evaluate the validity of the diagnosis, the cause of the condition, its work relatedness, the appropriateness of the treatment, whether maximum medical improvement has been achieved, whether an individual can return to work, and the nature and extent of disability. OMS can setup IMEs with qualified experts throughout the United States. OMS maintains a national database of more than 800 examiners with quality ratings based on past experience with their work product.

DOT/CDL Examinations

The OMS performs DOT certification and/or recertification exams for workers to determine if they are physically capable to drive a commercial motor vehicle safely.

Immigration Examinations (certified by USCIS)

The OMS provides required examinations for immigrants in accordance with the US Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS).  Each evaluation includes an examination performed according to the medical guidelines established by the USCIS and Centers for Disease Control (CDC), all required laboratory testing and vaccinations; and completion of all the necessary paperwork.  Our USCIS Designated Civil Surgeons are experienced with the medical requirements of these examinations.

Drug Screening & Medical Review Officer (MRO) Services

The OMS has extensive experience managing large occupational health projects including all aspects of drug testing services for a variety of large and small employers. These services include drug screening policy development and implementation, record management audits, DOT/FTA and non-DOT drug collections, breath alcohol testing, Medical Review Officer result reviews, and computerized random selections. OMS has two certified MRO’s on staff and four certified drug screen collectors proficient in collections of urine, hair and breath.

Respirator Fit Testing

The OMS performs both qualitative & quantitative respirator fit testing and medical clearance of respiratory protective equipment for workers. OSHA standards require that fit testing be performed annually after the initial fit test, and any time a new respirator is issued to the worker. Fit testing can be performed by appointment at OMS’ clinic, or onsite at company work sites.

Flu Vaccinations

The OMS offers injectable and nasal influenza vaccines to a wide variety of companies and private patients annually. For "needle shy" patients, OMS uses a needle-free air injection device – "air gun". Arrangements can be made to provide vaccinations at company work sites by a certified technician.

Medical Case Reviews/Expert Witness Testimony

Dr. Conibear and Dr. Khuri have significant experience in medical case reviews, expert opinion on causality or absence thereof, of worker medical conditions as they relate to work.
